Forgive us, Dear Leader, for we know not what we done
Well this has been getting all the ridicule it richly deserves:
As for our "enemies," Mr. Shapiro, my guess is that they are now greatly concerned that their greatest recruiting tool will soon be leaving office and that Americans have finally shown some common sense in choosing a leader.
It's us, the craven citizenry of the U.S. that has shown "arrogance and weakness that will haunt us" for years to come. Glad that's been clarified.
Our failure to stand by the one person who continued to stand by us has not gone unnoticed by our enemies. It has shown to the world how disloyal we can be when our president needed loyalty -- a shameful display of arrogance and weakness that will haunt this nation long after Mr. Bush has left the White House.
As for our "enemies," Mr. Shapiro, my guess is that they are now greatly concerned that their greatest recruiting tool will soon be leaving office and that Americans have finally shown some common sense in choosing a leader.
