Shays loses

Chris Shays, the last Northeastern Republican in Congress has been projected the loser in Connecticut by NPR/WNYC.

I've shaken his hand dozens of times at the local train station before past elections...must be tough to lose a Congressional seat you've held so long -- it's personal. Shays, originally from Greenwich, moved to Bridgeport several years ago to symbolize his connection to all his constituents, not just the wealthy ones. Ironically, heavy turn-out in Bridgeport may have been his undoing.

Still too close to call in Fla, NC, VA, and IN (and NPR says their still voting in MO), but this looks kinda done and we have elected the first thoughtful, intelligent, even-keeled President since...Bobby Kennedy...wait, no, his brother maybe...wait. FDR?

And a brother.
