Meaningful career goals

Yeah, yeah, I suppose I should resist the urge to ridicule these people; I should link to the "printer friendly page" instead of to the main page that features a photo of these geeks; I should talk about how this is a model for liberal think tanks to build a "farm system" for young political activists on the left side of the political dial.

But I won't. You know why? Because these creepy little punks are so open to abuse. I mean, what do you say about someone whose post-college plans are this lofty?:

Katherine Rogers, a junior at Georgetown, is spending the summer in the Keith and Lois Mitchell room, on the Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Smyth floor, just upstairs from the Norma Zindahl Intern Lounge, which is adjacent to the William J. Lehrfeld Intern Center. Ms. Rogers's father is a longtime Heritage donor, and she is working in donor relations, which she thinks will be useful in her intended career as a pharmaceutical lobbyist.

Ever since she was a child, our young Katherine dreamed of one day being a flak for Big Pharma, chasing House staffers down the Capitol hallways to make sure their boss will vote to extend her client's patent on its...ahem...stiffener drug.

Makes you want to shower.
