It's a wonder it's taken this long.
Now that the "those people were told to evacuate, they just chose not to" collapsed under the weight of its own stupidity; now that "President wanted to offer Gov. Blanco help, but she didn't declare a state of emergency in time" meme has died in the face of actual timelines of events; now that the "it was the state and local officials' fault" argument has been wheezing and staggering after being reminded of the assistance Bush gave his brother before and after hurricanes in Florida in 2004...
After the failure of all of those defenses and feints, it's time the wingnut apologists for the Cheney administration wheel out into the open the suspicions and gut feelings they've been harboring since the start of this natural disaster: the victims abandoned to the floods and their fates in New Orleans are all just a bunch of animals, anyway.
