Juan Williams bats his eyelashes at Karl Rove

At the end of Juan's interview with Bush's brain on NPR this morning:

ROVE: Thank you, Juan. I appreciate it. Good to be with you.

Of course, it's good to be with Juan, if you're Karl Rove. Softball question after softball question is answered with disinformation and nonsense.

Was the leak that Berger is being investigated politically timed? Of course not, Juan. These are very serious charges relating to our national security and they must be investigated thoroughly.

One waits for the follow-up:

But the White House has known about these charges for some time. Doesn't it strike someone as politically astute as you, Karl, that the timing -- right before the release of the 9-11 Commission Report -- sure is a wild coincidence.

But that follow-up never comes.

Or how about: Mr. Rove, really, how serious is what Mr. Berger did? After all, USA Today is reporting this morning that,

...the FBI did not consider the incident to be a major threat to national security, a government official said.

[...]

a government official who asked not to be identified because of the political sensitivity of the matter said that FBI agents did not regard the Berger inquiry as ''a front-burner-type of investigation.''

That, too, goes unasked.

Hearing these two speak together gives you a warm, fuzzy feeling for how close they are as you make your morning commute.
