Tough questioning ahead
From today's "Washington Wire" in the WSJ (subscription required so we got no linkage here):
Let me get this, questions for a Supreme Court nominee on his views on the "unitary executive" is out of bounds; questioning the Attorney General on illegal wiretapping his "aiding the enemy." But damned if they won't get to the bottom of Bernanke's views on "serious things." Those Republicans in Congress, taking their duty for checks and balances so freakin' seriously.
BERNANKE FACES pressure to answer deficit questions in next week's congressional testimony. "He ultimately will have to speak out on serious things that affect the economy," says Senate Banking Chairman Shelby. "If he doesn't, there will be a void."
