Taking one for the team
Seems our young NASA public affairs official, the one who instructed a NASA researcher on the theoretical science of the "Big Bang," had a minor typo on his résumé. Where it said he "graduated" from Texas A&M, it should have said, "not."
The blogosphere notches another victim. But as much as one takes glee at these types of stories, this is an awfully convenient way for the administration to knock an unfavorable story out of the way. The Bush administration's anti-science policy of pandering to the basest constituents on the religious right -- a policy that does not even rise to the standards of "truthiness" -- remains firmly in place.
And I'm sure squire Deutsch will be amply rewarded with a job on K Street.
Mr. Deutsch, 24, was offered a job as a writer and editor in NASA's public affairs office in Washington last year after working on President Bush's re-election campaign and inaugural committee, according to his résumé. No one has disputed those parts of the document.
According to his résumé, Mr. Deutsch received a "Bachelor of Arts in journalism, Class of 2003."
Yesterday, officials at Texas A&M said that was not the case.
