Another sign of my impending AARP membership

Geez, this story made me feel old.

DETROIT (AP) -- The Pittsburgh Steelers' logo is one of the best-known in pro sports, the three starlike symbols that decorate one side -- and only one side -- of their black-as-coal helmets.

Many NFL fans think they represent Pittsburgh's three rivers, or the diamond shape of the city's downtown.

Really? Am I so old, and the United States' steel industry so long dormant, that people no longer instantly recognized that the Steelers' logo is taken from that once mighty behemoth, US Steel?

But I do admit, I didn't know the idea for using the logo came from Cleveland. That's gotta hurt.

And I wonder, is the AP story really news, or is the MainStreamMedia (or, NAMBLA), objectively pro-Seattle?
