Pedro's coming to New York
But to the Metropolitans, not the Yankees.
This is probably a smart decision by the Sox front office (four years is a long time for l'il Petey), but it sure leaves a hole in their rotation, especially now that it appears Carl Pavano plans to sign with the Yankees. That means the two best free agent pitchers have been lapped up. And lapped up by the two teams Red Sox Nation hate the most.
Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks are suddenly reinterested in making a deal for Randy Johnson.
The winter is heating up.
