Two teams are to begin the ALCS tonight

You may not have heard, but the Boston Red Sox are going to be playing the New York Yankees in Yankee Stadium tonight. It is believed that the players for the two teams are not fond of each other, but have the utmost respect for each's ability, and their fans have long engaged in amusing and playful ribbing of one another, but all in civilized good taste. Oh, and I think it has been some time since the Red Sox have won a World Serious, while the Yankees have won, basically, one quarter of all the Series played.

So it should be a fun, relaxing way to spend the next 10 or so evenings.

Predictions? You want predictions? You'll get none here, except to say that my "Fox Keys to the Games" are Schilling and Rivera. Can Schilling dominate in Yankee stadium tonight, or will the Yankees wear him down and stay close enough to win late? Will he pitch a game seven? Will Rivera, after an emotionally draining day attending the funerals of two cousins killed at his home in Panama, be able to channel his despair and anger into his cut fastball? Will he even make it to the game tonight?

After that, the only other key is who will play this year's Bucky Dent/Aaron Boone role?

For more on the matchups, Larry Mahnken has an extremely unbiased look at the series and predicts Yankees in three. While Aaron Gleeman reminds us of just how good the Yankees starting rotation...er...was last year.
