FoxSports just as whacked as FoxNews

"The baseball schedule isn't a surprise for the people in Washington," Fox Sports president Ed Goren said Tuesday. "The debate organizers knew 6-8 months ago what the playoff schedule was. This was their decision. I can't explain it."

"There was no place to go with our schedules that was realistic," added Goren. "If we move one game to 4 p.m. (ET), that's 1 p.m. on the West Coast, so how does that help?"

What a ridiculous thing to say.

First of all, Fox forced MLB to schedule Game 2 of the ALCS and Game 1 of the NLCS at the same time. Second of all, until Fox bought the post-season, MLB always ran one of the two games in the afternoon. In fact, up until a few years ago, we regularly had post season games in the afternoon. You know, so kids could actually watch the game.

And don't get me started about the Fox pre-games; they're an embarassment to all involved (if they were capable of that sentiment).

Realistic but undaunted, Goren said, "I don't expect a significant drop in the ratings" for Wednesday night's games. "I do expect an erosion. The debates, in possibly the most important presidential campaign, are important to a lot of people."

No matter. FoxNews will tell us all who won the debate, so no need to switch the channel.
