Lifting the ban on assault weapons -- good for the war on terror

The Daily Show's Stephen Colbert on the expiration of the assault weapons ban:

Look at Iraq. Everyone there's got [an assault weapon] and they've been successfully holding off a much more powerful occupying force. I think that's a model we should follow.
