NY Post: "Kerry picks Dewey as VP"

What a scoop!

All in all, a great choice. Edwards is a formidable speaker who, both by dint of personality and experience as a personal injury trial lawyer, is able to really connect with audiences. He can also frame a subject in such a way as to make complex issues relatively understandable (hopefully he can help the Kerry campaign improve on its stump speech; the speech he gave announcing his pick really was kinda rambling, I have to admit). His demeanor should match up well with Dick's sour, "go &*%# yo'self!" attitude.

The GOP is surely gearing up the attack machine as we speak, and will no doubt focus on outlandish awards given to plaintiffs in personal injury lawsuits, but, there's a reason Edwards won those awards for his clients: he effectively and emotionally communicated their pain and suffering to juries. He should be able to do the same thing with voters, communicating his brilliant "Two Americas" theme. And based on our rollicking economic recovery, that theme should play extremely well with audiences throughout the country, especially swing states in the midwest and even -- wow -- southern states.
