Has Bush lost Sully?
It sure sounds like it.
Regular readers of his blog must be very confused. In posts like that one, he is clearly on the side of the angels. In another post, he despairs that he cannot disassociate Abu Ghraib from his "memories" of the Bush administration ("memories of the Bush administration," what a lovely notion).
But he continues to viciously attack the left for their criticism of Bush, even comparing a satirical piece to the tactics of the "right wing conspiracy" that tried to take down Clinton.
Weird. I believe the steroids and his "deviant" lifestyle are getting to him (by "deviant," I mean a gay Republican).
"I never apologized to the Arab world." That was his message to the editors of Christianity Today about the Abu Ghraib abuses. It speaks volumes about Bush's sense of personal responsibility. He is a walking example of the following culture: "If it feels good, do it, and if you've got a problem, blame somebody else." But he just can't or won't see it.
