A drag

On a day when we have reports of 12 marines dead in Iraq, of a White House that has now dropped any pretense that their opposition to providing the 9-11 commission with relevant documents is anything but political, and an EPA that callously circumvents science and puts Bush supporters in the power industry ahead of kids' health, it's nice to know that a Texas Republican just wants to "feel like a woman."

"TEXAS: DRAG PHOTOS EMERGE Photographs of a male Republican candidate for the Texas House in women's clothing surfaced last week, and party leaders urged the candidate, Sam Walls, to withdraw. Mr. Walls, 64, rejected the calls on Monday, saying he would not give in to 'blackmail' from opponents trying to use 'very old, personal information' to force him out of the race. 'Now my opponent is using the private information in an attempt to intimate that I am a homosexual, which I am not,' Mr. Walls said in a statement. Mr. Walls is competing in a Republican primary runoff next Tuesday in House District 58, south of Fort Worth. Lee Woods, a political consultant for Mr. Walls's opponent, Bob Orr, said Mr. Orr's campaign staff had learned of the photos and alerted party leaders. (AP)"

Dude, embrace your feminine side. It's always worked for Rudy Giuliani.
