Taxman

Bush/Cheney '04 are relentlessly attacking Kerry on proposals to increase taxes on gasoline. Never mind that their own economic adviser advised the same thing as recently as 1999. Turns out, so did Dick Cheney, "'Let us rid ourselves of the fiction that low oil prices are somehow good for the United States,' Mr. Cheney, who is now vice president, said shortly after introducing the legislation."

The Kerry gas tax commercial is very strange. Not only is it shot full of lies -- we expect that from these guys -- but what is with the silent movie style format? And why am I seeing it in the New York metropolitan area? 1.) While not everyone in the region uses mass transit, this is certainly not an area obsessed with gas prices, and 2.) This is hardly a region that will be hotly contested in November.

Just goes to show you, not only is the Bush administration fiscally irresponsible, so is the Bush/Cheney '04 campaign.
