Decisions, decisions
The Post carries a story today on Kerry's decision-making process. It's written by a Post staff writer, Laura Blumenfeld, but it could very well have been written by a Kerry campaign worker.
It's also a reminder of how anguished an internal debate went on in Kerry's head -- as it did in the heads of a lot of us -- over authorizing the use of force in Iraq.
As I've written before, it will be a challenge for Kerry to communicate the benefits of nuanced thinking during challenging times. He must simultaneously fend off Republican charges that he's wobbly and resist the urge to become something that he's not, some kind of one-note populist. That's the trap Gore, a nuanced thinker himself, fell into (and never really got out).
