Advice for Obama

Everyone has their favorite, but my personal favorite from the letters these kids wrote to the PEOTUS goes like this:

Dear President Obama,

Here is a list of the first 10 things you should do as president:

1. Fly to the White House in a helicopter.
2. Walk in.
3. Wipe feet.
4. Walk to the Oval Office.
5. Sit down in a chair.
6. Put hand-sanitizer on hands.
7. Enjoy moment.
8. Get up.
9. Get in car.
10. Go to the dog pound.

Left turns

This is an encouraging sign as more young people identify with liberal politics/issues. However, it is curious that their preference for democrats and declining support of republicans in general and preznit in particular doesn't align with their overall confidence in the ultimate outcome in Iraq. Perhaps, after a lifetime of Grenadas (or is even that conflict before their time?), Gulf War Is, and Bosnias, American defeat is simply unfathomable. Something to keep an eye on, and underscores the difficulty democrats are going to have in articulating a strategy for disengagement. Of course, now that Republicans are beginning to head for the door, the other danger for democrats is that they continue to look too timid...
