Old and in the way

Presidential leadership is not about disembarking at an emergency command center where a 72 year old senator can do nothing but distract people from doing their jobs. Presidential leaderhip is about understanding that it is the infrastructure you build in your administration that is prepared and equipped to deal with huge but anticipated disasters.

George W. Bush never understood that and apparently John McCain doesn't get it, either.
