Falling flat

In a way, this is a good thing. Not so long ago, the audience would have laughed uproariously. More recently, they probably would have tittered "politely." That a racist joke caused nothing but shocked gasps at the National Western Stock Show is a sign that, if nothing else, things are getting better.
