Lessons learned

Hilzoy watched the all-nighter the Senate put on the other night and is struck that we have now officially spent more hours debating the merits of planning a withdrawal from Iraq (and that is what we're talking here, not a "precipitous retreat," as the warmongers successfully spin the observers in the press) then we have debating the merits of invading Iraq.

She ponders this, then lists the things more people should do the next time terrorists attack us and we look around for someone to smack around.
