The Hall of Fame vote
Yeah, yeah, I know Dear Readers. You're all expecting me to (and by "expecting me to," I mean "hoping I don't") write about the Hall of Fame vote results released yesterday. Ya know, the one in which Cal Ripken and Tony Gwynn were near unanimous choices. The one in which the guy who is seventh on the all-time homerun list polled a miserable 25% of the vote (it takes 75% to enter the hallowed halls of The Hall), because said #7 on the all-time HR list -- the guy who, with the equally freakish Sammy Sosa got people to watch baseball again as they chased Maris following the strike/lockout -- essentially used his constitutional right to plead the fifth amendment before the Serious Men of the U.S. Senate.
25%. Man those sportswriters sure are our moral and upright betters, aren't they?
But, at the end of the day, I really don't much care either.
